    AppsApril#22 Reflex

IMG_1325Claiming a twin lens effect, that I am not sure is so special, this is another app that I thought lacked a twist or unique selling point.  The original app purchase only provides some film effect options (That are very nice ….) All other filters are 99c a set or $5.49 the lot. Like many other camera/editing set ups – great idea, plenty of options (at a price) and easy use. Simple ‘sharing’ options too … IMG_1332 My favourite … IMG_1324So again, if you’re looking for a vintage/lomo/flexible effect app – this is for you.  If you already have one .. think carefully. Thanks for coming by again!  See you next time!!

    AppsApril#21 iColorama S

iColorama S is another app with a wonderful array of editing options.  My sister’s dog and my creatures are the subject matter for today’s review.  iColorama S has a simple to use interface … IMG_1319 Each option opens a range of choices … I enjoyed this app, but am not convinced that it is unique enough to purchase it over some of the others reviewed so far.  If it was one’s only editing app – great, but more than likely you have a collection already and this may not be a ‘must have’ addition! Thanks for checking in again today!  Hope to see you again next time!

    AppsApril#19 Instagram Fisheye

Instagram has added a new member to the family, Instagram Fisheye. Love the effect! Crisp, clear, fisheye effects – love it!!! Big challenge for me about Instagram is that the different features are in different apps. Its a pest having to switch from one to another.  Lots to choose from of course – especially if you purchase the additional filters and effects. I brought the LOMO set in the Fisheye App to see if it would also be available in the others – uh huh, purchases required in each app. Also turned out that for $5 all of the fisheye filters, could be turned on, including all future ones. So, that’s it for this review.  Love the app, enjoy Instagram – just those annoyances listed above. Thanks for reading my review and visiting today. Hope to see you again soon!
  • AppsApril#18 Zitrr Camera

    AppsApril#18 Zitrr Camera

So, next cab off the rank is the Zitrr Camera.  Here’s the camera screen … IMG_1191   There are a number of options – level (turned on in this screen shot), seven different screen set up options (including rule of thirds, diagonals, square, golden etc) and different camera types. There are options to use the usual iPhone camera set up, video, self timer, burst, anti-shake, interval and scan.  Quite a versatile range!! White Balance can be auto or locked, and filters are switched on by ‘pulling’ a red lever.  There are 12 filter options – lomo, pastel, feather, crude, intense, haze, old paper, sketch, lux, toon, poster and comic.  With this range there are filters that match Vintage (AppsApril#15), Luminance (not all options, but some – AppsApril#3) and a number of the others I have reviewed so far. The gallery set up is straight forward … IMG_1190   Settings enable location identification, volume on the shutter, sounds, and back up and sharing choices. I stayed in bed and checked out what Zitrr could do from my view point there … Some zany effects!! The wardrobe never looked so interesting!! I also took the opportunity to capture Cayleigh Cat – asleep on my bed and enjoying the opportunity to ‘lie in’! She is an active sleeper (in fact pushes me across the bed at night!). Cute but!! Some vintage and drawing effects feature here. Overall – I think this is a pretty handy app – not my favourite, but useful and intuitive to handle.  Give it a go I’d say. So that’s it for this review, thanks for reading it!! Catch ya next time!
  • AppsApril#15 Vintage camera

    AppsApril#15 Vintage camera

IMG_1133   A really easy starting menu for this app too! Vintage camera offers 30 styles of ‘vintage scenes’, 15 sets of ‘faded times’ options and a range of antique frames and borders. I used the images I have been collecting of my feet to produce these … Original and 2 filters.  Another example … Instructions pop up pretty immediately … IMG_1131Straight forward process. I am disappointed that the vintage effects are all VERY vintage – there is an option to manage the image age, the texture strength, the image strength, to fade the photo and enhance the image though – probably worth more exploration. These four were particularly cute! The share options are extensive and include the usual suspects – FaceBook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. Overall verdict?  Pretty flexible and interesting, but I think I like CameraFX and PhotoCat better for options and ease of use. I’ll keep it in a folder on my photography apps page, but not busting to trot it out regularly at this stage. Before I go … while I am on the topic of feet – I made this collage of feet images, desaturated it and saved it to camera roll, but cannot remember which app I used. It’s official, I have TOO many!!! Thanks for checking this review, hope you found it useful.  See you tomorrow? Thanks for coming over!
