AppsApril#2 Photography Tools

So today I thought I’d introduce 5 apps I have in my Photo Tools folder …

(I am not sure if I have mentioned that I have 80+ apps to cover in 30 days, so some days there will be a bonus edition!)

IMG_0696There are 2 light metres. The ‘Pocket Light Metre’ is in the first slot. One can get rid of the ads by either paying $5.49 (and thereby giving the developer a beer) or 99c. Either way, its a good idea – the ads can be annoying!Lots of flexibility and easy spin wheels to manage Time, Aperture and ISO. Simple!

IMG_0699The second light metre (by Horace Ho) requires one to select which function is to be altered and then use a slider to increase and decrease it. Not as simple to manage in my opinion, but, perfectly adequate for a free app. Again there is the option to get rid of the ads (99c or $3.99 with developer gift).

IMG_0698The third app is technically also a camera – it is a Self timer app. Defaults to 10 second delay, but is adjustable. Not ever found a use for delayed self shots (camera can be reversed) but I can see a purpose for the timer on the front camera.

Holga Clicks is a diamond of an app. If you have a bent for plastic cameras and experimentation, this is a great little tool. I loaded by Holga (jerry rigged it really) with 35mm film. Carefully taped up the film number view finder and then went ‘duh’ how do I know how many turns to make to advance the film successfully?? The app offers Holga and Diana options, mask sizes and then provides clicks, fractions or decimals. I love the clicks with my Holga – it has been spot on every time!!

The last app to check out today is ‘Posing App’. Another gem. It provides posing guides for photographers and models – for children, women, men, couples, groups, weddings and glamour shots. Clear line drawings help photographer and model to get started and feel confident that they’ll have some great angles for openers.

IMG_0701That’s it for today, enjoy these apps and hopefully I will see you tomorrow!!

Thanks for coming over!
