Having snapped a few hundred images as usual – it was a challenge to edit these down to a small sample. Some favourites …
Infrared at Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha
More exploration with the new infrared sensor on my Sony Nex 7 – Big Buddha and Wat Chalong in Phuket.
Infrared in Phuket Town
Having replaced my Sony Nex 7 with the new Sony A7R, I was debating what to do with the Nex. My son suggested sending it to lifepixel.com for an Infrared conversion. What a great idea. Phuket Town is the perfect place to create moody, brooding images in infrared. Had fun!!
Temple trawling in KL
I found myself in Chinatown as usual – a colourful photo zone!! The Buddhist temple, Sin Sze Si Ya was colourful and gorgeous and the Hindu temple Sri Mahamariamman sedate and glamorous. Both are in active use, so again I was faced with the dilemma of capturing worshipers at prayer or not. Opted not 🙂
Islamic Influences in KL
Couldn’t resist the Islamic influences – the National Mosque and Islamic Art Museum were great starting points on a day of wonderful travel photography in KL.
KL Explorations
Doing what I love most, wandering the streets with camera in hand to capture what I see. KL this weekend offered lots of treats! Impressed by the full sensor Sony A7R!! Have added 24mm and 75mm Voigtlander lenses (both 1.8) to my camera travel kit. Small light lenses with pretty impressive performance.
Week 44 #project52 Phuket Temple
The Lomography fisheye camera proved an effective tool for taking a different look at one of the many Chinese Buddhist temples on Phuket island.

These were taken in Normanville, but could be anywhere on our glorious coastline. Double exposures with the Sprocket Rocket… Continue reading Week 43 #project52 Beach Doubles
Week 42 #project52 Phuket Botanic Gardens
The Phuket Botanic Gardens are colourful, bright and artistic. Highly recommended for visitors to our fine island, the gardens are full of sculptures, interesting structures and exquisite gardens of all kinds. The Sprocket Rocket was a perfect camera for the colourful vistas.
Week 41 #project52 Lomo in Banrock
Before I left for Thailand I enjoyed a short break in Kingston0on-Murray with a dear friend. Forgot that I had some Sprocket Rocket images in the camera form our great time away.
