Seems that the Phuket Vegetarian Festival piercings are becoming weirder and weirder each year.
It was a pleasant surprise to see more of the spiritual side today – not sure if I was off the main route or not.
I stood next to a gorgeous old lady who joyfully received blessings from a passing parade of trance-like god carriers (not all pierced). She bubbled over with joy and shared some with me.
The local businesses were being blessed too. Quite a party atmosphere.
Took my Sony A7R and 55mm Zeiss lens to the Phuket Vegetarian Festival parade in Phuket Town this morning. Not ideal lighting – and fire crackers added to the general smokey haze. Fun all the same!! Facial piercings are a big feature of the parades – the shovel was a surprise. Look out for the abacus, axes, knives, saws, flag poles and swords.
During my recent trip to South Australia I spent time in Adelaide, the Zoo, Goolwa, Victor Harbor and Hindmarsh Island. Here are my 12 favourite images from the 300+ I took.
I gave my infrared camera quite a workout as I wandered the Goolwa riverfront, Hindmarsh Island and Victor Harbor during a recent quick trip home to Adelaide. Enjoy the eerie effects and unusual colourings!
